My house finally has power and electricity back.
Most of southern Ontario and parts of the US near New York were hit by blackouts yesterday at 4:11pm, and I only just got power back at home shortly before 4:00pm; some are still waiting. I read in the newspaper this morning that something similar (but to a lesser extent) happened back in 1996, when a squirrel found its way into a power grid -- resulting in a temporary loss of power in 9 states and parts of Mexico. Go figure. :)
Anyhoo. Don't know how long this power thing is gonna last, since they are rolling blackouts and I could lose electricity again just when we start to get comfy. So. Just thought I'd let everyone know, especially anyone I know from outside Ontario...it at least explains why I haven't answered any of my e-mails. :) Urgh. Was supposed to meet up with some people today at a subway station downtown because they've got used textbooks I want to buy...that plan went to hell...also didn't have a dentist appointment to go to this morning.... :P This whole thing wouldn't have been so bad, though, if it weren't for the alarm system in our house -- everytime the electricity goes out, it starts ringing and doesn't stop until the power comes back on. So for the past 24 hours...... *groans* But all is good right now. Hope it lasts and hope everyone else gets electricity back soon, too...
Oh yeah. In all the excitement, I almost forgot to say that I went to the Tori Amos concert Wednesday night. She's calling this tour the "Lottapianos Tour", and for good reason. The crazy woman always plays two pianos at once. :)
One more thing: reading
Treasure Island is fun. 'Specially 'cause every once in a while a pirate breaks out with a chorus of "Yo-ho-ho, and a bottle of rum!" Hehe. Heheheh...
